September 30, 2019 Sand hills and a .270

hey yall

This week was busy but that its all good lets get some highlights going.

Monday was mega pday, little boring cause we had to drive 6 hours but we got to play chair soccer and basketball.  Tuesday was our last district council, we talked about daily planning and accountability, everyone joined in the conversation thank goodness cause I ran out of material.   We did studys and finding for the rest of the day and found a sweet guy named JC!  hype, we are going back this next week to visit him.  We had dinner with some returning members and that was super fun to hear their stories about coming back to the fold!  Wednesday, I was humbled.  Our Chevy Equinox had a super hard time driving on a sandy road while trying to find a inactive member who lived by a lake, long story short, E. Billy is a strong little man, thank goodness we had a shovel and Chevys suck in the sand... Even with AWD, Ford is from the Lord (thanks Trent) lol  Because of this event we were super late to our appointments with a couple members but we got em all done.  The rest of the night we tired referrals from our branch President and knocked around them and found a couple intrested people.  Thursday, we finished up the list and contacted more people from the past and got to sit down with a couple people!  We had dinner and a lesson at Dairy Queen with a newer member, did a faith flip (flip to a random page of Book of Mormon) and it answered her questions on what she needs to do better on!  Church is true book is blue.  Friday we had surprise exchanges with the zone leaders. yay. I went with E. Holden, it was fun over the weekend we built a fence for a member, did a ton of finding and taught a young crazy family.  Saturday was rough, we had 2 appointments fall through and yeah it sucked.  we knocked doors for like 2 hours straight in the fog/rain mix and yeah it was rough.  But we had a good dinner with some members and then one appointment actually happened!  It was with Chris a returning member!  We drove up to his ranch house and taught the plan of salvation, he set a goal to someday make it to the SLC temple, man did it make me feel grateful that we have so many Temples close by in Utah.  Dont take em for granite!  The closest temple to us in like 4 hours away.  He shot his .270 for us and it made our day better!  Sunday Chris came and we had a good meeting, about the new youth program!  I wish I was a youth now!  well thats it for today, Im off to omaha (5 hour drive each way) yay....

Love yall, Elder Phelon
