So this week has been one of the most amazing weeks up here in Brookings. first off Brad was baptized!!! We were so hyped and excited for him!So last pday we taught Brad the Law of Tithing, it went really well and he liked how the system works. The rest of Pday was pretty boring to be honest. Tuesday, we got district council all prepped and ready to go, along with Brads lesson. We helped Grandma (lady who does our laundry) install her new Amazon Fire stick. Well 2 hours later it was working lol. Always remember your wifi password people. We also installed a antenna, I felt old. We tried a handful of people with the time we had left in the day, had a member dinner that went really well, then headed off to Marshall for District Council. Wednesday, District Council was alright, nothing too exciting, right as we got back to Brookings we had an hour before we drove to Watertown for a baptismal interview and he passed! #baptizenations then we hauled back to Brookings to literally teach Brad everything left on his record because he wouldn't be able to meet for the rest of the week. Thursday, I was tired of driving plus miles just reset, so we parked the car and walked around a couple neighborhoods and did a lot of finding. We had a returning member dinner then had Brads baptism interview, the ZLs from Sioux Falls came up and turns out one of them was sicker than a dog throwing up in the bathroom the whole interview, what legends to drive almost 2 hours while sick to interview someone for baptism. We also got a referral from our boys in Watertown so we tried to contact her to finish off the night. Friday was weird. we taught Eric more about the Book of Mormon and he wants more evidence it is true. Bro your freaking holding all the evidence you need and if you want more, pick up your Bible. geez some people. I testified and spit a little fire so we'll see what happens. We weekly planned which is always a party... not really but we have to do it anyways. We tried more people then cleaned the baptism font, because the last time it was used by missionaries was almost 1 years ago. It was gross, the white tile was like a gray/brown title. We cleaned up the glass and the whole font with de-greaser, got all the bugs out and yeah it looked a ton better. Saturday, so who ever wrote the instructions to fill the font was completely wrong, it takes 3 hours bud not 1.5. I was afraid it would be a cool one so we were always checking the font temp and it stayed around 100 degrees. We started filling around 7am and finished 20 mins before the baptism started. We had a ton of people show up including Terry! tons of non-members, it was super spiritual, Elder Bronson and I were the witnesses and taught the Restoration to everyone while they were changing into dry clothes. The rest of the day was like a dream, I couldn't believe someone was baptized so I was in aw. We tried a ton of people then ate like kings at Applebees, it was lit. Sunday, Brad was confirmed and I shed a tear. it was super awesome, it was fast Sunday so he bore his testimony! oh man we got a shout out from the pulpit and and it sweet! We also had a random guy show up to church to come and see what it was like, oh buddy you better believe you wanna learn more and he did! appointment still pending* The rest of the day was pretty chill, well hot and humid but not much more happend, knocked doors and had a member dinner. well thats it for today folks. I am very grateful for the ward stepping up and helping us with brads baptism.Love yall, Elder PhelonPicsCleaning fontBaptismBaptismYup found some more toysSDSU
