April 15, 2019 Mysterious Blizzard Blessings...

Hey yall so this week has been crazy.  It all started off with going to Marshall to give a baptism interview that night, well we were told it was going to blizzard the next day and we had to be out of Marshall before the afternoon.  So we drove to the top of our area and did some work and had dinner with a member then did the baptism interview.  The lady passed and was baptized yesterday!  Well the snow started coming down that night but we figured we would be alright.  Morning came and boom like a foot of snow was on the ground.  We were deciding if we should call off the other missionaries from driving to Marshall but turns out they were determined to come, so our whole district was in Marshall.  So yeah, we got stranded in Marshall's church building for 2-3 days.  6 Elders and 2 Sisters.  My car was done for, since it had bald tires and it was a Chevy, so we had to car pool in the other mission cars, we got a place for the sisters to stay and we crashed in the Elders apartment, and yeah it was a good learning experience but what is crazy is what we learned from this experience.  So turns out we actually needed to be stranded together, one missionary was going though depression and was about to go off the deep end, and we were all kinda salty to each other, but now we're like the best family district you could think of.   We were able to teach a few people online which was pretty cool.  All together, we got about 2 feet of snow and a ton of freezing rain, I got new tires and got to drive a brand new car (yes it drifts well in the snow) so long story short, God put us in this situation so we could figure things out.  It was a blast.  After the blizzard blew though, and roads were plowed we made it back to Brookings but then had to head up to Watertown to do another Baptism interview!  He passed as well, we did a mini split and Elder Clark and I saved a members trailer from being trapped in the snow.  We drove home on a icy road but we made it back!  We found a new person this week and had 5 random college students come to church!  And get this, the members actually did their jobs!  Its like they learned something from this past weekend!  Well, my studies have been pretty good, about the Resurrection and being judged by God with a perfect body, its in Alma y'all should read it sometime.  I am very grateful that God works in mysterious ways because then we can look back and learn from it!  Hope y'all have a wonderful week
