Monday: Pday, the usual, except this time our ZLs were "busy" so we balled down in Bellevue and an Elder from Logan found a old Vikings football helmet, so we played a mix up of football, basketball and rugby. No injurys to report yet #SorryElderSorenson We also hit up little mexico (south Omaha) and went to some of the shops around there and it was a good day.
Tuesday: So today we got asked by the Sister Missionaires to mow a widows yard, so last week she only let us mow half of her yard but she wasn't home so we took the bull by the horns. We had to pop a wheelie on the lawn mowers since the grass was so tall, it stalled the mower at the highest level and yeah, so Elder Sandberg did that I found an old electric lawn mower so I decided it wouldn't hurt so I plugged it in and went to town, about half way though the job, the lady came home and was suprised we fixed her electric lawn mower, about 3 hours later we finished, and actually got the lawn to the lenght she wanted it at, we ended up having to tie the flap on the side of the mower open to throw the lawn off to the side since it was so tall and kept stalling the motor, so we were making lawn tails (mud tail get it lol)
Wednsday: We were invited to go up to Omaha and do service at Salvation Army which is a huge company in NE, so our ZLs picked us up in a brand new Chevy Malibu, super nice but the motor blew at 2K miles (no suprise haha) we did service in food shelf for about 2-3 hours and that was super fun, my comp had a glass botten thrown at him from a random guy who totally missed the dumpter and missed him by aobut 2 feet crazy mircle! Afterwards we hit up Tbell and headed home to contact some referrals and then had a sweet dinner that loaded us up with sweet referrals and good food!
Thursday: Zone Conf. So this zone conf. was really good! Except for the "if your car is dirty your losing it" so we deep cleaned our car for about 2 hours, Carrol the Corolla was so clean you could of eatten off of her. So we didn't lose our car thank goodness but we did get burned out spirtually. This zone conf. was about teaching the restoration along side with baptism. So turns our most missions were teaching the resto good then at the end "suprise" want to be baptized?! So we relearned to teach the resto side by side with baptism. It turned out really nice. We were promised by Elder Anderson (qurom of 12) that there were people in each city ready to be taught and baptized which was super cool! I learned a new term "ask" which means "acquiring spirtual knowlegde" super cool!! it is our choice as missionaries if we want to see mirlces happen, and I hope every single missionary does.
Friday: We did more service at another food shelf today, that wasn't too bad. Afterwards we cleaned out 3 gutters at our Elders Quroms presidents referrals, that was a fun door aproach, "knock knock" "hey can we climb on your roof and clean your gutters?" haha, most people were caught off guard but hey we're build trust with the members! Afterwards we had dinner with a family who took us to little mexico (south Omaha) to a mexican place, were most of the employees didn't speak english so that was fun haha, they ended up giving us the grand tour of South Omaha and Bellevue. Fun but made us late to the rest of our apointments...
Saturday: So Nebraska has these crazy storms, well just recently the last one, lighting struck a house... and it blew up and caught the house on fire... So turns out this house was the only house on the block with gas lines that were "lighting proof" so yeah, we were called in to help with the gutting of the house, the whole house was torched and everything was gone, it was super sad, smelled super gross, but tons of fun! Part of the house didn't have the frame of the house anymore, it was burned so bad we could of broken though the floor, we stripped all the walls to the frame and threw everything away, and holy cow they had a lot of stuff. It was like a haunted abandon house that caught on fire. Also forgot to metion, this girl named Hailey was there, she was totally hitting on me and my comp, she liked Elder Sandberg a lot, haha its either you find the crazy people, or they find you... The rest of they day we were contacting referrals and stuff like that, had dinner then ward corralation, it was a good day.
Sunday: Today was the usual, tried a couple referrals and what not, but not much luck. Church was good, talks were on ministering and they were really good! One of the talks was on promtings of the spirit and how to tell if its the spirit or yourself, and how to make your ministering efforts more focused on the people and not the Facebook or instagram post you can make out of it. Our purpose has eternal value if we let it. The rest of our day was pretty good, got to give a couple blessings, find a new investigator and had a great dinner, there was 2 old guys who ate with us and members familly, one guy was mormon, and the other was Lutheran, they were brothers and randomly in the middle of dinner the Mormon told his brother he gets more true religion in one year than he does in 50 years, and they started throwing down at the table, bashing back and forth on whos right and wrong, and scriptures started flying around, it was great but im glad we didn't get involed haha.
Well hope everyone has a great week!
