December 24, 2018 CHRISTMAS!!!!

Holy cow its already Christmas?! Time is speeding by.  Well this past week has been a party, Elder Piper got transferred to Logan Iowa... Now I got Elder Chapman!  Elder Chapman is a beast, he just got done being trained in Brookings South Dakota and now we're killing it in the big city in West Omaha!  Elder Chapman is from Gilbert AZ, and is a baller.  We get along get and life is awesome.  This past week we have been finding a TON!  I would say at least 3 hours of straight knocking doors, the rest of our time we try less-actives and stuff like that to change it up.  So Elder Chapman, he is cool and all but every night we give our Pug Holly treats before bed, well Chapman though it was a treat for him, so he started eating it, Brother Hall and I got a kick out of that lol.  We also spendt the past little while reorganizing our apartment as well.  We got all our tree set up and we are praying that Santa comes and we're not bad Elders.  Also this past week we were able to take Brother Hall to the Trail Center to see the Gingerbread Festival and get a history tour, it was awesome everyone talks about how cool it is and I've never been but it was awesome!  Tons of awesome gingerbread displays and stuff like that.  The tour was pretty awesome, I came in clutch and shared the First Vision for the sisters and our group, then we headed to the Kanesville Tabernacle to see another Gingerbread display, that was cool as well, we got another history tour, it was the building where Brigham Young became the Prophet, it was super cool and spiritual.  A cool thing I saw this week was trying to talk to people about modern day Prophets, a lot of people don't know that we have one and its cool sharing that with people.  Church was good, we got a less-active family to come, their baby was beating the crap out of the dads face then decided to share the love with me, it was fun getting whipped by a baby haha, also with this less-active family we are helping them get "staged" for moving, Im sad to see them leave but its been a blast serving them, he also took us for another ride in his slammed F-250 super duty, buring rubber and all that good stuff.  well I can't believe Christmas is tomorrow, the only thing missing is snow, it all melted but its coming back don't worry.  Merry Christmas Love y'all!

December 10, 2018 exchanges and tanks...

SO this week was pretty fun, we had exchanges this week in Fremont, to be honest it was kinda boring.  We got to see a tank that is just parked in the middle of no where so that was pretty awesome but after that we knocked doors for about a half hour, had dinner and the other Elders called it a night.  kinda lame but oh well....  We tired a ton of potentials this past week and cleared a bunch of them out so now we are trying to work with the members to find more people to teach.  We also had out last district council this week and it was really good, the ZLs came to this one and it turned out to be really good.  lots of good feedback, our week has been fast, during my studies it has been in Ether, and they keep going from righteous to wicked really really fast, its crazy to see people become so close to God then the next moment they are knocking on Satans door.  So my challenge to y'all (and this was also said in the last general conf) is to do a self evaulation to see where you are at with God?  Its super cool and if you ask God what you need help with, he will show you!  Crazy I know.  well thats it for today folks also if anyone is sending packages to the mission HOME, you need to stop.  Please send them to the Martha street building.  11027 Martha St. Omaha Nebraska 68144

December 3, 2018 Light em up

So this week was pretty great with Light the World and everything.  We had a good week trying a lot of people and all that good stuff.  Day one of light the World was awesome, we tried to shovel snow but since it was misting outside it melted all the snow into slush then to water and so we got like 2 driveways done then the whole city was done haha, we drove to Elkhorn, the other side of our area to see if they had snow but it was the same situation.  We tried to find service all day but didn't have too much luck.  We had exchanges this week with the Fremont Elders in Lakeview, it was super good, we split the area and blitzed it.  I got a couple neighborhoods done but then I got really sick but my comp got a few return appointments!  Exchanges ended early since I was sick and we spent the next day at home recovering.  On Sunday we got a few inches of snow which is awesome our ward mission leader sent us a list of member to remove snow for and we went to a widow lady and she had one of the largest driveways holy crap, the road wasn't plowed yet so of course I had to rally car it to her house haha.  We got most of it done then had to go to church.  Church was good, we had the patriarch come teach our Sunday school class and it was super spiritual, he taught what helps us feel the spirit and what drives the spirit away.  we also got a referral this week!  First one I've gotten for a long time!  But we got it while I was sick, so we contacted them on Sunday, the girl wasn't home but her parents said we could come back!  They were kinda scetched out since it's freezing cold, these two guys are out walking aournd knocking on doors but hey they recognized who we were though.  Other than that my week was pretty good!  My challenge for y'all is to make a list of what helps you feel the spirit and what drives it away and try to work on those things that drive the spirit away! Love y'all!

November 26, 2018 Thanksgiving injuries

Hey everyone! So this week flew by and I dislocated my finger by trying to catch a football...  it was fun though. This week was awesome, we didn't get to teach Heather but we were able to help her out with some yard work before it snowed!  Thanksgiving was good, we had it with a member and we played ping pong and games with the family. Afterwards we hit our little gym the member has in his basement it was great. Other than that our week was pretty normal, knocking doors and trying people. My comp is learning to drive in the snow, so far we only spun out once... we were able to teach a few families and it was good! My studies this week were good one thing that stood out the most was promptings of the more specifically those who need priesthood blessings, and I was able to follow on to a member that I thought would never need one! The spirit knows who needs what and when they need it. Turns out that member has been praying for one. It was super spiritual and awesome. Therefore always follow the spirit. Love y'all!

November 19, 2018 Snow and getting lost in corn fields?

Hey everyone!  So this week has been exciting and werid, we did a lot of finding... again but we set someone we're teaching for baptism!!  It was awesome, we spendt about 3 hours preparing her lesson and had a sweet member team up let us teach the lesson in there home.  It was super powerful and about half way though the lesson it just clicked for Heather while we were teaching about the Sacrament!  the spirit was so strong and we were able to give her a blessing and ah it was just sweet.  besides that it snowed a few inches, our Tiwi is being a witch, but thank goodness she fell off the windshield therefore I got to unplug her for a few days:)  Dont worry shes fixed now... sadley...  We went finding in Elkhorn, which is on the west side of our area, so super super rich people and super bonnie at the same time, so we went to try this less active and his bio said he was on a farm property, so I was like boom lets go, so we put it in the GPS and ended up in the middle of a corn field with no tresspassing signs and stuff like that everywhere.  We never found the guys and it was super dark.  people from the interstate prob saw a car driving though a corn field and were like "there gonna get shot or something"  haha, I also got to babysit an Elder from Sioux City while his comp was in the Temple for trainings that was super fun.  So ive been studing the Book of Mormon "haha so funny Elder Phelon" but it was Mormon for real, and the Nephites are getting whipped by the Lamanites over and over, losing all there cities and stuff like that, so Mormon sees the end of the Nephites so he steps down from being Chief captain, but they call him back to the position because he is the only worthy one.  We can not lean on others 24/7 we have to put in the work to stay worthy and build up our own testimony.  I love this part besides the Nephites being wicked and all that jazz.  But hope eveyone has a sweet week!

November 12, 2018 Burning Barns...

So... a lot has happened since Thursday so bare with me...

So it all started with an awesome Temple trip! Afterwards I had to drive to Fremont to pic up my Quad which took the rest if the night. The whole weekend we spent finding and setting up return appointment so nothing too exciting. Besides getting a call to cage a cat at a members house. Turns out the cat was mauling people while they were trying to sell the house. Well I'm allergic  to cats so my comp tried his best, we ended up getting it in a box and putting it in a cage with a chihuahua, and the dog just about killed the cat but from what we heard they are both still alive...  so our mission President has invited us to start teaching members, we aren't just called to teach people investigating the church, we called to teach everyone! So we set a goal to teach 3 families a week... well Sunday rolled around and we haven't taught anyone...  our ward mission leader lit a fire under me and poured gas all over it! So I was able to give a short talk in Church and it was awesome, only had a few hours to prepare but I winged it and did pretty good. Basically talked about teaching members and a few fun stories and related Alma 34:32 how members are preparing the missionaries to teach. Then we had 2 people at church! Afterwards we taught 3 member families and it went really good!  One lesson I was terrified to teach but we killed it!  One member described this Sunday like Burning Barns, and that's how powerful the spirit was. I can't explain how awesome it is to be on Spiritual high! Lake views about to get lit my friends, shut up sit down and hold on! Love y'all!

November 8, 2018 No Quad Squad

Hey eveyone so my Pday was moved to Thurday so we could go to the Temple!  Im super excited!  therefore this will be a short email.

So this week was long since we didn't have pday on monday but it was fun.  So we had zone conf. it was super good!  it was on Halloween, we were taught about the baptismal comitment and how we are giving people agency to pick if they want they want to take that first step towards eteranl life... it was fire let me tell you, we had to be in by 6pm so after zone conf we were basically done for the day.  We had the Fremont and YSA elders come over and we had a party, watching movies on the flat screen and eatting pizza, it was fun.  We also had Stake Conf, that was also fire but super long.  most of it was broadcast since it was for our regional zone, which is huge.  We had a fireside that night as well, it was good but I was so spiritually burned out it was hard.  But hey I still learned something!  This week was fast, we tired a ton of people and got a few return appointments!  We also had our last District Council and it was good, we had to bring a random item from our apartment, so I brought I decoy duck, and we had to relate it to the Restoration, and I was given a stuffed Panda so Elder Piper and I related it to not taking care of Pandas, it was a tough lesson but we got it done haha.  I also forgot my scriptures in my DLs car and he took off to his area in Fremont which is 45 mins away...  So ive been using a Book of Mormon and a Bible that we had out, but it just happens to be the night that we run into people that dont like members of the church of Jesus Christ.  long story short I felt like I was going to war with a 9mm pistol but hey we shut him down!  he prob pissed himself a little too...  so moral of the story you can still knock doors without your quad #noquadsquad its not the best idea but hey know your scriptures!  Dont worry mom im getting them back today.  Thats all folks!  see you in 4 days!

October 29, 2018 Finding, finding and more finding...

What up y'all, so this is gonna be a quick one today!  So Basically all we did this week was finding.. .  But the ward had a trunk or treat, which had a sweet turn out!  Other than that we just tried people all week... But on Sunday we taught our first lesson!  The person we found was dropped back in January but he wants to start meeting with us again!  His family are basically already members but we went over the Restoration with him and it was sweet.  I really hope that he accepts to read the Book of Mormon again with real intent and a open heart!  This past week I was asked to do a study on finding happiness here and now, and it took me 2 hours to finish this study it was super awesome!  Im so grateful that this Gospel brings so much joy and happiness!  I can't wait to share it with all the people in Lakeview!  well thats all for today!  Hope everyone has a awesome week!

October 22, 2018 Service and exchanges!

Hey eveyone this week has been great, we've done tons of service this week and had exchanges!  It was a good week.  All we did was try people with interest and visit with members and do service, we are helping this member get ready to sell his house and move to Ohio to a farm property, he is a super sweet member and its sad to see him leave but hey at least we get to help!  We've been painting his basement and helping clean up his house so it is ready to go on the market, My fav part was cleaning up the shop, he had a 06 chevy silverado that he was pulling the LS1 motor to drop into a 1980s ford 150 and making it a track truck.  sadley he is selling all of it because he doesn't have time, but hey it was a cool idea, he has a set up with a 2 post life and a huge tool bench!  All of our appointments fell though which sucked but we went on exchanges with the fremont Elders, which is a spanish area.  It was fun, took about 45mins to drive their, we cleaned up the area book, following up on dropped people from a while ago and stuff like that.  It was fun but while we were finding, we drove past this "monster truck" so we pulled over, tired a few people and street contacted and found a dry "Mormon" or jack "Mormon" (please excuse the misuse of words) he thought he got kicked out of church for listening to rock and roll...   so we found that sweet monster truck and turns out it was a mud truck it was sweet.  Anyways, I was told I needed to add a Spiritual side to my weekly's, so it's going to be on Moroni Chatper 10, we talked about spiritual gifts and how we ustalize them in Gospel principles, so I studied it and it was awesome!  I challenge y'all to go and read that and see what you think!

October 15, 2018 Snow in October...

Hey everyone!  This week's been sweet! We were able to do tons of lawn mowing to members and nonmembers! It was sweet, we loaded up our Legacy with law equipment so that was fun. Other that that we did a ton of finding and found a few new people to teach. Sunday was sweet, the ward is so grateful to have missionaries back in the ward and it's awesome to see a ward super excited to do missionary work. Sunday it snowed about 4 inches, we literally had fall for about a week.  Other that that our week has flew by!

October 8, 2018 Whitewashing and Pugs

Hey everyone!  So I was transferred to Lakeview in West Omaha, im whitewashing and reopening this area and im super pumped!  My new comp is Elder Piper and he is awesome!  He's been out 6 months and we both love cars!  So we'll get along just great.  I also drive a 2017 Subrua Legacy in case anyone is wondering.  Its pretty cool, but Id still take a Ford lol.  Our area is awesome, the members have been praying for missionaires to some back... BOOM we're back baby!  So far its been awesome getting to meet the members and getting use to the area, its been raining almost everyday since we got here.  We also live with a member which is werid but super fun as well, so Missinoarys aren't allowed to have pets... But when you live with a member they can!  So we have Holly the Pug, she is super fun, and fat.  She likes to join us for studies and sleep in the window.  She sounds like a lawn mower when she sleeps.  Its awesome to have a dog again!  Other than that its been a fun week, getting setup and ready to kill it!  General Conferance was awesome!  So much revalation!  I loved the talk Presdient Nelson gave about the name of the church, taking Christs name away is a W for Satan, don't be afraid to tell people who you are, "are you a mormon?" "what your really asking is am I a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints?"  BOOM roasted!  The work here is going to be amazing, we already have built up so much trust with the members, the other day we were getting a ride in a slammed 2012 F250 super duty with the 6.2L Gas V8 but it had an exhaust kit with a tuner.  While heading home after unloading the truck I asked the member if he was going to show us what the truck was made of so he started listing the materials, "steel, plastic, glass, rubber..." We were laughing and he put it to the floor, burned out the tires and took off!  holy crap I thought we were going to die for a min but it was sick!  flying though traffic and the exhaust sounded great.  dont worry mom I had my seatbelt on.  I asked what tuning he had set up and he said, oh my truck thinks its a Raptor... But its a better Raptor, pushing about 450 HP and about 460 LBT (car words sorry)  Well I hope everyone has a great week!

October 1, 2018 zone conference and transfers

So first of all HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY TO MY LIL SIS!!!

This week flew by and what do you know?!  Im being Transferred!  No I do not know where Im going.  Im excited but super sad to leave, we had a few people on the trail to baptism, but hopefully my boy can finish the job!  Our week was kinda weird, it all started with Zone Conf, we drove 3 hours to Council Bluffs for a combined zone conference with half the mission with Elder Anderson, it was really good.  I also got to see both of my cousins who are serving in NOM too!  After Zone Conf, I was in a trio for a little bit with Elder Bingham, he's a sweet kid.  It was sweet, we also had Stake Conf, and that was really good too with Elder Hathaway of the 70.  He roasted the ward on member missionary work in a really nice way.  Elder Hathaway came and found us and we talked for a little bit and he is a really cool guy.  The whole Conf. was super sweet and spiritual.  President Ence came up as well and that was cool to see him too since we are super far away from everyone else!  We were also able to do service for older member who is a recent convert of 13 years, but never got around to cleaning the smoke stains off his walls when he stopped smoking and it started becoming an issue, so we had the chance to clean his whole apartment and wipe down all the walls, and they were yellow, turns out they are actually white so that was nasty.  Well its been a fun 3 transfers!  Love y'all

September 24, 2018 Superchargers and missionary work.

Hey everyone, so this week flew by!  It was a super exciting week, We talked to a ton of people but sadly only few wanted us to come back.  We visited with a lot of the people we are teaching, and they are progressing pretty good.  We had our last district council this week for the transfer because of zone conference next week.  We got 5 people set on baptism date and tons of people coming to church!  We also got a new Gospel principles teacher who just graduated from high school and thinking about a mission so the Bishopric is trying to encourage him to go by giving him this calling.  We were asked to help him create a lesson plan and help him teach the class so we showed up to his super huge and fancy house, and helped him, turns out he is a super sweet kid, me and him got along really really well, we are both lube techs (or were) and we both love cars!  He use to have a Chevy Cobalt SS, with a supercharger that put a little over 400HP to the wheels, and his dad has a sleeper 1940s cruiser car, and a 6.7L twin turbo power stoke diesel F-350.  It was a great appointment.  Besides all the car talk, he taught a super amazing lesson this last Sunday!  It was on our Talents and Skills, it ended up being a class discussion about ministering and following the spirit to use your talents to bless others.  We helped a family move into our ward and they had a super nice Penske lift gate truck so it reminded me of home and all the moving trucks at Timp Rental.  Other than that my week was pretty sweet, hope y'all have a good one!

September 17, 2018 Exchanges are sweet!

Hey everyone so this will be another short email because I am currently sitting in the back of a Malibu heading to Mitchell so my spelling will be off a little bit.

So this week flew by by, it was crazy we set a family for baptism this week and it was lit, on Saturday we taught the full Restoration lesson like 4 times, it was sweet but a weird day.  We also went on exchanges this week and I was with Elder Olsen and it was lit.  We had so much fun, lighting up Brandon.  We were able to help a member set a tramp up and talk to a lot of less actives and people with interest.  It was sweet.  We had a sweet member in Sioux Falls hook up us with a Pizza Ranch and some western gear.  Other than that it was pretty normal week.

Love yall Elder Phelon

September 10, 2018 Interviews

Hey everyone I dont have a ton of time but this week was cool, had interviews, got my stinky car sorta fixed and yeah pretty simple.  Hope everyone has a great week!

September 3, 2018 Gift of signing?

Hey everyone hope y'all had a great week because I know I did!

So this week was your average missionary week, finding teaching and soon to be baptizing.  We were able to teach most of our progressing people, that was sweet, we got to set one for baptism!  We also found of out the hard way, my comp is allergic to cats like I am, so I stop breathing and his eyes get all pink and puffy.  So that was a fun lesson...  We also had our first District Council over a video call, it was way cool to use technology.   We were able to teach another ASL lesson, with Antwan, it was awesome, we usually do the lesson on his front porch since his brother (who owns the house) won't let us in.  So we bring a couple folding chairs and yeah its sweet, we usually use his Ipad and call the ASL sisters in Salt lake but his wifi was down so we had to use our phones, the video call was on a 2G network so the call was really crappy but it was so awesome!  This person use to be taught by Jdubs (Jehovah witnesses) but he told them to stop coming and leave him alone!  Then he told us he likes how he feels whenever we teach him!  It was so awesome!  Then our phone started lost connection really bad, but then I started understanding what he was saying!  I was like holy cow Im reading ASL! and the sisters were freaking out and it was just awesome and the spirit was so strong!  He wants to know what he needs to do to be baptized!  Im pumped!  Well im out of time so I love all of you have a great week!

August 27, 2018 New Transfer and group chats

So this week has been sweet!  We got a new ZL and things are booming!  (still love you Westenskow)

Monday: We didn't do too much today, went fishing, I didn't catch anything!  It was alright.

Tuesday: Today was a slow day but good, we were able to meet with a a person we are teaching, and go over the ARP and dang that was super sweet!  It is so deep and intense but its so awesome!

Wednesday: We did finding for most of the day, but we were able to get one of our ASL people to the church for an ASL activity!  I am slowly learning ASL to have small talk with deaf people, so far I know the 1st vision and expressions and the abc and numbers but other than that im clueless.

Thursday: We were also able to teach another ARP lesson tonight, it was sweet, we are working on step 1 which is honesty and the person we were teaching loved how it was based around God and how the only way we can over come is though a higher power!  We also had a scripture study with a family who is investigating the church right now but is taking it slowly, but we had a super good lesson, we read Ether 12 and disscused it, while reading one of there kids joined in and started asking amazing questions!  It was so awesome to answer them and feel the spirit!

Friday: once again it was another day of finding and trying people, then weekly planning, then more finding, but it was a fast day.  Our dinner appointment started asking questions about how many wifes Joseph Smith had and they thought he had 120... That was a fun time, and there daughter started asking while it was ok to have 120 wifes...  That was fun.

Saturday: Finding again, but we had a sweet dinner with a member who went with us as a team up to teach our ASL person!  It was one of the best lessons we had but it was also the toughest!  His wifi stopped working so we couldn't call the ASL sisters, so we toasted our data and used my phone along with my battery, it was a super good lesson, besides my crappy samsung phone, but hey technology saved the day!

Sunday: So we had invited 5 people to come to church so we drove all over creation trying to contact them to make sure they were coming...  And no one came:(  it was tough but we still were able to teach a power lesson on the restoration, and have a nice dinner with some members.  we didn't get to do studies until about 7:30 at night hehe opps...

Well that all for today!  Can't believe another transfer has come and gone!  Also our Zone started this new Messenger group chat and its so much fun, its like we're family or something!  We post anything we did during the day, so pics, videos or miracles we experienced!  Well Love y'all

August 20, 2018 Gotta love technology

So I used our area book planner on our phones to write my weeklys so I don't forget anything, but overnight our phone system got a bug and it thought Area Book Planner was a dangerous app so it deleted it along with every other app as well besides the factory ones.  So its time for the highlight reel!

So this week was fun we taught a few lessons and did a lot of finding.  One of our ZLs is dying so we held his funeral this week.  that was fun!  We also got to learn ASL this week! We learned how to do a super simplify version of the first vision and we did the ABCs and numbers 1-20, and how to spell our names as well!  It was sweet.  A kid returned from his mission a few weeks about, and he is loaded!  He got a 2018 Subaru Outback with meaty tires and a 2" lift, it was green and blacked out.  It was a sweet car, I would never buy one but it was a sweet car.  We were able to save up enough miles to travel to Tea for the past couple days and it was sweet we found a family to teach!  We did some service in Laverne in the Brandon area, we got to help repaint a house, it was nice to step out of normal missionary life and wear jeans and just paint.  We were able to get 4 people to church this last week!  We are killing it up here is Sioux Falls!  Love y'all!

August 13. 2018 Zone Conference, fishing and twin turbo mustangs

So for those who still read this weekly, I just wanted to let you know I saw this sweet 2015 Ford Cobra Mustang 5.0 L V8 twin turbo.  It was beautiful holy cow.

So this week has been slow and fast at the same time so yeah

Monday: We went fishing, it was alright, the pond was covered with nasty alge and all we caught were cat fish.  We also went to the state fair, it was sweet, everything was closed but we got to walk though a petting zoo and yeah that was about it.

Tuesday: So first off, I am not in trouble but I went on splits with President Ence and Elder Harrison, it was crazy so we scrambled to set up "solid" appointments and were cleaning everything and making sure we were on task so we didn't get toasted for anything.  We showed up to meet up with everyone at the ZLs apartment and we ended up waiting an hour for everyone to show up.  So we had to cancel our first appointment, which was a bummer since we never get to see this returning member very often.   Afterwards, we knocked a few doors, handed out like 4 Book of Mormons in 5 doors.  We had another lesson and it was alright, President took the lead and was able to talk about important things with these people.  That was super weird but we had a good time.

Wednesday: Today was Zone Conf. It was good and long as usual.  we were trained on how to talk to people out on the street in many different ways, it was cool but a little weird.  We had a good BBQ for lunch, then had more trainings and it was sweet.

Thursday: President Ence gave us a challenge to get our area books up to date and ready to go by Sunday (yesterday)  So we spent most of Thursday and Friday transferring records from the paper book to our phones.  Geez thanks to those sacks that didn't do it.  Because of it we were able to get in contact with a few people from those old records!  #blessings one of those people had a German Shepard that was dragging its owner down the hallway to come "greet" us.  But we were able to talk to the dude and set up a return appointment!

Friday:So today was slow, still transferring records and weekly planning.

Saturday:  We spent most of the day trying to clean up our phones that are now loaded with people with interest.  we went to Texas road house to celebrate our ZLs trainers wedding, it was great besides having to pay for 2 dinners since someone forgot there wallet...

Sunday: Today was your usual sunday, we had one person we were teaching at church today and it was good.  We taught one of our ASL people today and it was sweet, we taught him how to pray correctly and that God and Jesus are not the same person #Jdubs afterwards, we tried a few people then headed home.

Today was sweet we went fishing again with the ZLs and have been taking it easy today but I hope everyone has a awesome week!

August 6, 2018 Omaha and viruses...

SO this week has been really fast and weird at the same time.

It all started on Tuesday:
So Monday we ate something nasty and we woke up feeling super sick and it sucked so the mission nurse told us to take a day to recover.  we spent the whole day laying in bed and yeah it sucked.

Wednesday: Today we had District Council and it was good, super spiritual and got us excited, the rest of the day was the usual missionary day

Thursday: So today flew by, we ended up driving to Omaha for a trainer/trainee we spent the night in Rockbrook, with 4 other Elders, we raided the apartment and I found a sweet fly shooter and some other useful stuff that they didn't want or probably know about so that was sweet!
Friday:  We had our trainer/trainee meeting and it was sweet!  we got trained on how to effectively plan and how to best help our "green" missionaries how to become "seasoned" missionaries!  It was sweet, we got lunch and then after all the meetings, we went to the Kanesville Tabernacle and got a tour of the historical site.  afterwards, President Ence took us all out for Icecream and showed us a table where President Nelson and President/Sister Gardner sat for about 2-3 hours!  I got to sit in that seat.  It was sweet We drove home that night and I didn't get home until about 8:45 PM and the other Elders I drove down didn't get home for another 2 hours.  It was a super busy day, but it was good.

Saturday: Today we spent most of our day weekly planning and catching up from all the days that we missed, we got to do some service for our Bishop which was sweet to give us a break from planning.  We did some role plays over the phone with the ASL sisters to help us teach our ASL people better and it was really good.  we were able to contact a couple people and have a good night.

Sunday: So we broke a record for the most people at church, or at least in the past 6 months, we had 3 people come to church!  it was awesome!  It was a pain in the butt but it was so worth it.  We also had President Kearl (in mission presidency) come to our ward today, he drove like 4 hours and it was awesome, he interviewed us and we talked about the people we were teaching and he gave us his advice on how to best meet there needs.  He also brought his huge Ipad Pro and showed me pics of his cars on the front row of the chapel during priesthood opening exercises, it was great.  Im so grateful he took his own time and gas to drive up to Sioux Falls and help us out.

Well hope everyone has a great week!

July 20, 2018 Wait its Monday?

Hey everyone!  This week flew by and it was awesome!  Lets kick things off with the weekly review!

Monday: So it was the usual *preparation day, we had a sweet dinner, got lost in the apartment complex but eventually found where the room was.  Afterwards our lesson cancelled last min so we ended up knocking doors and the 2nd door we hit, nobody was home until they pulled up in the driveway and opened her door and asked if we wanted to talk about Jesus.  So we did... for about 45 mins, we ended up giving her a Book of Mormon and shared our favorite verses, hopefully she decides she wants to learn more!

Tuesday: So our Car, Rachel the Stinky Rogue had an airbag light come on the dash, and since its a fleet car, Im not allowed to fix it.  Kinda sucks but Im being "obedient" So we didn't have our car for most the day but it was our car fast day anyways.  We walked around downtown for most of the day, picked up our car, checked out some nasty Nissan Titan cummins and they were on sale for 10K off, ew. We had another super sweet dinner appointment, it was super funny and great, the members were loaded, they had a huge house, expensive cars and the whole 9-yards, yet they were super humble about everything!  Afterwards we had a church meeting to finish the night.

Wednesday: Interviews!  President Ence drove up to Sioux Falls for interviews, it was nice instead of us driving an hour south to Sioux City.  Interviews went really well, President Ence is really chill and easy going.  We had a good conversation, talked about somethings and it was great.  Our district meeting was good, we got to use the High Council room, super soft chairs are nice every once and a while.  The rest of our day was finding and trying people but not too much luck.

Thursday: So today Elder Harrison and I decided we wants to clean up our Area book, so we did, turns out there is over 40 uncontacted referrals #sacks thats a little upsetting to come to an area that had missionaries that didn't really care about the Lords work too much.  While doing that, we also got a referral from HQ, Im pretty sure we set a mission record, we contacted this referral within 20 mins of it being sent.  It blew everyone away how fast we showed up and HQ was surprised at how fast we got it done!  We were able to set up an return appointment and give him the Bible he requested.  We had dinner with our new Bishop, it was super sweet, he is a convert to the church because of his wife but it was a good story.  While driving home we were able to leave a Book of Mormon in a neighborhood library and it was sweet!

Friday: Our morning was super slow, but our evening was busy!  we had to pick up our team up for a few lessons we set up, but they ended up falling though, but the second lesson we had was in a old apartment complex and the last time I walked though it I almost threw up and passed out because someone spilled there top roman all over the floor, spilled chili powered all over it and let there cats eat it up then piss all over the floor were the food was.  Also forgot to mention there was no ventilation in the hallway at all.  So we decided to take our team up to that apartment.  We walked in and he turned around immediately and said "NOPE"  swung the door open and started running to the car literally!  (this guy is 71 years old btw) he told us that this building is not safe for missionaries and suggested that was drop everyone in this building.  We decided to take this member to our lesson with our new referral, we figured it would be a good idea...  We showed up and this guy is from West Africa? I think?  Anyways while we were getting to know him and we started to talk about reading out of the Bible, and our member started throwing down on this guy but them somehow we got control of the situation and started talking about the Book of Mormon, and it was super sweet, we ended up having a super good lesson, the spirit was strong and the guy had a desire to learn more!  We drove to Wothring which is about 45 mins from our apartment, we got another referral and it was in farm country and that was sweet!  except for the part that they didn't answer the door.  We tried a few more people but ran out of time and had to start driving home.

Saturday: We also spent most of our day finding and trying referrals but had little luck.  we also taught our ASL person, it was super cool, except we had to teach him outside since his southern baptists and we had a "good conversation" about grace and I guess he didn't like was I had to say.  Our ASL lesson went really well, the spirit was super strong even though we couldn't understand a thing he was saying, we just held up his Ipad so the the ASL sisters could talk.  That took up a couple 3 hours but it was good.

Sunday: Today was your normal church meeting but times up so I gotta go!

Life lesson, always tell your team up about the game plan.

July 23, 2018 Flooding and street contacting

Hey everyone so this week has flown by!

Monday: this last Preparation day was lit, we did disc golfing and it was awesome!  My comp and the DL threw a disc into a river, our DL went after his and the other was gone for good.  but it was awesome!  we also got to watch him fly RC planes around a field it was a sweet day!

Tuesday:  Car fast!  So we live in Downtown Sioux Falls and its always booming with tons of people!  So street contacting it always super sweet.  we walk on a trail next to the "big" Sioux river and all over downtown, talked to a lot of people, met a member who was visited out of state and he texted pics to our moms and got lunch from another member!  We also got to reach a referral today and testify about the Book of Mormon to her!  It was a super powerful lessons and I hope she wants to learn more.

Wednesday: We had our first official "District Council" with our brand new DL, is was a sweet council and everyone gave there input and it made it really spiritual and a great learning experience  The rest of our night was street contacting, we started talking to a group of drunk people and he told us how we gotta be the best of the best and in order to be the best of the best we got to be the best of the best of the best and he repeated himself for about 5 mins.  So I plan on being the best of the best of the best!

Thursday: We taught our progressing person Todd, he is ready to be baptized!  He just wont come to church!  He is ready but thats the only thing holding him back.  we did some more street contacting and had dinner with a member of the Stake Presidency who owns half of Sioux Falls so he had a sweet house!

Friday: Weekly Planning...  Our day was pretty slow but good, got somethings done, taught a returning member and had our team up bail on us because he was tossing cookies, so we tease him he'd rather cook than do missionary work with us lol  (yes I know what tossing cookies means)

Saturday: So we got a call that we needed to go to Minnesota and help with the Mormons helping hands or the people in yellow shirts, it was super awesome and I was super excited!  I got my own helping hands shirt and got to clean up a bunch of flood damage from the recent storms!  It was tons of fun but we had to leave early due to the member who drove us:(  I am grateful I was able to help out and represent the church, tons were grateful and so was I.

Sunday: So my greenie comp got to talk in church and he did a good job, the member sitting next to me decided we wanted to make him laugh while on the stand and we were successful!  Today was rough, all 4 people that were suppose to be at church fell though and it was hard.  We had a dinner appointment with a sweet family that hadn't feed the missionaries for a while.  We showed up and they slammed us, and told us we would only earn there and the wards trust if we worked our butts off and found and taught people and showed the ward we are dedicated missionaries.  After they said that, they said they would be more than happy to feed us again!  Hard work pays off and member trust is critical for being people unto the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Well I hope everyone had a awesome week!
